What is the best age for a girl to enjoy a Barbie doll?

I have the intention to give a Barbie doll with a girl, but she is only 4 years old at this time. I sew doll clothes for Barbie and I think we should wait until about 6 years when you receive it. When do you think is the perfect age for a girl to enjoy playing with a Barbie doll?
