how do you make barbie clothes?

So i have this huge report due and i have to have project with it, im doing the paper on 1940's fashion so i want to link it to that. i want to make some barbie clothes, i have sewing machine but i have no idea where to start. Can you help me out?

when i was a child, my aunt knitted me about 20 barbie outfits. they were gorgeous. i still have them to this day.

it's just like making clothes for a real person, but much, much smaller.
