How were/are the cheerleaders like at your high school?

(Or middle school. Whatever.) Were they the cliche, Barbie Doll-type sluts, or completely different?
I'm only asking because the cheerleaders when I was in high school were just normal. There was a lot of requirements girls had to meet before even being allowed to try out, like having a completely clean disciplinary report (no suspensions or detentions), and they had to follow the UIL academic requirements, so the cheerleaders were actually really nice, decently smart girls, for the most part. And they were normal sized with freckles or glasses or brown curly hair. Some were kind of overweight, some weren't. Just kind of normal. (But they had decent skill, I guess...they could jump high and tumble and whatnot) So when I see the cliche, dumb, blonde snobby cheerleader that's as skinny as a rail as a character on a show or in a book, I really just don't get it. Are there actual squads like that?

they are really ugly, they all are terrible, half of them are fat, theres only like five, there's one gay boy, hes gay, they arnt aloud to throw up any body in the air or do pyramids or lift up anyone cuz they might get hurt like last year.
